Distributed energy-efficient clustering routing protocol for wireless sensor networks using affinity propagation and fuzzy logic

Organizing nodes into clusters and forwarding data to the base station (BS) in clustering routing protocols have been widely utilized improve energy efficiency, scalability stability of wireless sensor networks. Making decisions on how many are formed, which selected as cluster heads (CHs) who become relay significantly impact network performance. Therefore, a distributed protocol combined affinity propagation (AP) with fuzzy logic called DAPFL is proposed this paper, considers not only efficiency but also balance extend lifetime. In DAPFL, AP firstly used determine number select best CHs simultaneously based residual energy, distance between nodes. Then, optimal next-hop chosen by using system length BS descriptors. Simulations different scenarios carried out verify effectiveness results show that exhibits promising performance terms consumption, standard deviation throughput lifetime, compared up-to-date EEFUC, EEFRP, LEACH-AP APSA.
